Academy VEA
Nicole and I are very appreciative for your help. Our child loves you and your help, she made the comment the other day that without you Maths would make no sense to her – so well done and thank you.

Motivation
Jack said he thought you were "really great". He seems genuinely keen to do what it takes to improve. Please push him along! He is becoming more motivated, but anything you can think of to help most appreciated. Thanks again.

Significant Improvement
Val has been fantastic! She is an excellent match for my daughter who feels very comfortable working with her during mathematics tutoring sessions. As a result, we have seen a significant improvement in both her academic performance and confidence.

Confidence builder
Our daughter’s confidence in maths was low. As a student at a highly academic school, not doing well in maths was really getting her down. We have tried a few different maths tutors over the years as we were trying to find a person who could connect with our daughters learning style. We knew our daughter was capable of enjoying math but she just hadn’t been able to tap into it…until we found Val. Val started tutoring one night per week in July. Val took the time to understand the background and our daughters’ strengths and weaknesses. Val delivered tutoring which revisited the fundamental basics of math and then balanced that learning with current activity in the classroom. After only three months, our daughter not only returned the highest grade she had ever achieved in math but more importantly she was loving the classroom learning and no longer needed extra assistance during class time. This helped her confidence immensely. Val helps her with weekly homework and to be prepared for the week ahead while still embedding the important basics which had been missed in early years. We’re all so glad to have Val on our team!

Caught up, Well Prepared
Thanks so much for your tutoring support for our son David last year. He had transferred school systems only a week before Year 12 started, moving from South Australia to Victoria, as we had short notice about being posted overseas for work. The difference in curriculum content between SACE and VCE meant David had not been exposed to elements of the Year 11 VCE Specialist Maths curriculum, and also had not done the VCE 3/4 preparation over the summer holiday period before starting Year 12. He felt quite lost, in a new school, with new teachers and knowing he was behind on work others had already learned. We really appreciate you working 1:1 with David to help him catch up and increase his confidence in Specialist Maths. Your support meant he regained his love of Maths, caught up on content and went into his exams well prepared. David is now studying aerospace engineering through Monash University. With the solid grounding in Year 12 Specialist Maths from your tutoring, he had good preparation for his #1 course preference at university, and is now loving the challenges the course presents- and enjoying multiple high distinctions too. Thank you so much, not only for teaching the course content, but opening his eyes to approach problems, kindling his passion and preparing him for a future in engineering.
